Sheer / Light Filtering

Made from lightweight fabrics adding a link between your indoor and outdoor living areas. Sheers enhance the atmosphere of a room by adding texture and movement. Sheers filter and diffuse bright light into the room adding sun protection and softening your home whilst offering a level of privacy during the daytime.

Sheers are the perfect layering window solution for privacy over blinds enabling you to have complete light control.

To create full privacy during the night a second track can be installed behind the sheer from which the lining will hang, creating 100% block out when desired.

Installing a double curtain ensures the benefits of thermal and noise insulation with a soft finish from the sheer.

Curtains

Curta

Block-out curtains are either achieved by a block-out coated fabric or an uncoated fabric with a lining fabric attached.

Designed to block the light and provide the highest level of privacy, reduce outside noise and allows you to have complete control over your environment. These curtains retain air between the fabric and the window creating insulating air pockets along with UV protection for interiors.

Blockout curtains are the perfect solution if you are looking for complete light, privacy and thermal control. Combine with a pelmet to add even more insulation and trap air.

Bumph Lining:
Interlining curtains with bumph is a great way to create a plush finish and fullness to a curtain. When using silk, taffeta, lightweight and delicate fabrics bumph is always recommended.

Bumph lining is an added layer positioned between the curtain fabric and lining providing benefits of reduction and absorption of sound and is ideal for thermal control.

TRACKING / ROD OPTIONS

Tracks:

Decorama’s tracks are all made to order which allows us to custom fit to any size and shape window, including curved or bay windows. Tracks are a functional requirement and can be reduced or extended to complement your preferred look.

Hand drawn:

Highly adaptable, best suited for lighter curtains and can enable flexibility for large windows. Wands that hang out of view behind the curtain are available in various materials and sized to help with easy operation.

Cord drawn:

Cord-drawn tracks are ideal for heavily weighted curtains to assist with opening and closing with ease. All cords are secured to the wall to provide child and pet safety.  A cord drawn protects the curtain fabric from constant handling.

Rods / Accessories:

For a more striking look Decorative Rods are a great option. They are a fully customisable option that either stand out to the eye naturally or are able to be blended in to match paint colours and fabrics.

Accessories and rods add personality to your home. Drawn by the rings which enable you to easily open and close curtains. Decorative rods can be used with runners, functioning the same as a track. Visit our showroom to view and discuss our wide range.

Pencil Pleat

Pencil pleat curtains have a wide piece of tape running across the back of the curtain heading. The tape cords are pulled to create a gathered effect to the desired fullness. They can be hung using hooks or from a curtain rod using rings with hooks. Suitable for both sheers and block-out curtains.

Wave Fold (S-fold)

Also referred to as s-fold this style of heading forms soft even folds by using a speck track and take that creates symmetrical ‘waves’. The vertical lines this heading elongate any space making it seem larger and taller. This style offers a contemporary design suitable for both sheers and block-out curtains.

Inverted Pleat

Known as a box pleat or reverse pleat. The uniform and elegant folds in this pleat sit well when stacked back creating a simple and contemporary look. Care must be taken when choosing patterned fabrics as inverted pleats are flat facing with deep inverts. Suitable for both sheers and block-out curtains.

CURTAIN HEADINGS

There are a variety of heading styles available. Not only do they provide functional characteristics, they will also greatly impact the look and feel of the room whether the space takes on a traditional or more modern sensibility.

WAVE FOLD (S-FOLD)

S-fold heading forms soft even folds by using a specific track and tape that creates symmetrical ‘waves’. The vertical lines from this heading elongate any space making it seem larger and taller. This style offers a contemporary design suitable for both sheers and block-out curtains.

INVERTED PLEAT

The uniform and elegant folds in this pleat sit well when stacked back, creating a simple and contemporary look. Care must be taken with choosing patterned fabrics as inverted pleats are flat facing with deep inverts. Suitable for both sheers and block out curtains

SINGLE PLEAT

A single gather that gives a clean, contemporary look. This heading uses only a small amount of fabric and stack back when compared to the double or triple pleat headings. This is a good style to consider if there is not much wall space beside the window. Can be used with tracks and rods.

DOUBLE PLEAT

A twin pleat, like the Single Pleat, but with an extra pleat and therefore greater fullness, giving a superior finish visually. It has groups of double pleats spaced along the top of the curtain.

This style balances casual with traditional, which is perfect for many styles of home. Can be used with tracks or rods.
